I have been commissioned by New Dimentions to work alongside Gosport Solent Brass to create a new work which celebrates the town and its communities.

I have been working on two projects for BCMG.
Sequenza is a scheme aimed at GCSE & A level music students for them to compose a solo work for a BCMG player. Mini Fest is a project where, together with the BCMG team and local artist Sophie Handy, we work with a year 3 class to put on a festival day for the school.

Future Blend
Future Blend | Composer (2016)

The "Future Blend" project was inspired to bring together composers and harpists. Becoming established in the music industry is becoming increasingly more difficult and this project helps to act as a stepping stone for musicians and composers. The project also looks to help increase the amount of music composed for the harp.

Stranger
Sounds
Gore Point | Composer (2015)

Adding to the eclectic musical offerings already taking place in Birmingham, the first evening of Stranger Sounds takes place in November as a late night new music event. The series aims to explore relationships between performers through short informal sets, smashing audience perceptions and sparking imaginations.
Stranger Sounds kicks off by inviting David Le Page (violin), Jack McNeill (clarinets) and Suzie Purkis (mezzo) to present a genre-busting, thoughtfully curated and collaborative programme. All this in the relaxed buzz of Fletchers Bar where you can grab yourself a bite to eat and order your favourite thirst-quencher!

Adopt a Composer | Composer (2015)

Adopt a Composer pairs amateur choirs, orchestras, and ensembles with a composer for one year. It is funded by the PRS for Music Foundation and run by Making Music and Sound and Music.
I have been adopted by Arden Recorder Orchestra.

Frontiers Festival | Workshop Leader (2014)

I was the learning and participation co-ordinator for the New Music Festival 'Frontiers'. I worked alongside Birmingham Conservatoire and the Library of Birmingham to deliver a number of workshops from early years to adult composers. We created 'postcard pieces' inspired by James Tenney 'Postal Pieces'.

Listen Imagine Compose | Researcher (2015)

Listen, Imagine, Compose (LIC) is a project designed to investigate pedagogies of composing in secondary schools. It was funded by the Esmée Fairbairn foundation and organised by Sound and Music (SAM), Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG), with Birmingham City University as the lead academic partner.
